LO1 – Research
Investigate how multimedia products are currently used. This could include:
- Websites
- Games
- Kiosk presentations
- E-readers
You should highlight the multimedia features that can be included in such products.
How can the user interact with the product? Examples include:
- start / stop
- volume up/down
- select colours
- change parameters (characteristics) especially in a game
- page colour
- font size
- use links to move between sections
LO2 Planning
Students must apply their knowledge of Pre-Production processes (learned through R081 to produce planning documents. These would include at least:
- A Gantt chart
- Navigation system
- Visualisation
- Mind map
- Mood Board
- House style sheet
- Test plan
LO3 – Create the Interactive Media Product
Students must produce a KIOSK style product for the DAYZOUT company.
- Evidence of what you have done is required; use screenshots in a Word document to explain your work.
- You must use the SLIDE MASTER function to create a template for your pages
- The user must be able to decide their own route through your product.
- You must keep an ASSET TABLE detailing the sources and use of material such as images or video clips.
LO4 – Review
This needs to be a detailed piece of work for the higher mark band.
Make a copy of your blank test plan from LO2 and save it. Use this copy to carry out the testing:
- Have you applied your House Style?
- Do all of the links work?
- Is the information factually correct (if given in the Client Brief)?
Gather feedback from users (others in the teaching group)
How would you improve your product if you had more time?
