LO1 – Research

Investigate how multimedia products are currently used. This could include:

  • Websites
  • Games
  • Kiosk presentations
  • E-readers

You should highlight the multimedia features that can be included in such products.

How can the user interact with the product? Examples include:

  • start / stop
  • volume up/down
  • select colours
  • change parameters (characteristics) especially in a game
  • page colour
  • font size
  • use links to move between sections

LO2 Planning

Students must apply their knowledge of Pre-Production processes (learned through R081 to produce planning documents. These would include at least:

  • A Gantt chart
  • Navigation system
  • Visualisation
  • Mind map
  • Mood Board
  • House style sheet
  • Test plan

LO3 – Create the Interactive Media Product

Students must produce a KIOSK style product for the DAYZOUT company.

  • Evidence of what you have done is required; use screenshots in a Word document to explain your work.
  • You must use the SLIDE MASTER function to create a template for your pages
  • The user must be able to decide their own route through your product.
  • You must keep an ASSET TABLE detailing the sources and use of material such as images or video clips.

LO4 – Review

This needs to be a detailed piece of work for the higher mark band.

Make a copy of  your blank test plan from LO2 and save it. Use this copy to carry out the testing:

  • Have you applied your House Style?
  • Do all of the links work?
  • Is the information factually correct (if given in the Client Brief)?

Gather feedback from users (others in the teaching group)

How would you improve your product if you had more time?
